  • Location: Golden Eagle Senior Center, 715 Broadway, Eagle, CO
  • Cost: $25.00

“Fall is harvest time and with many delicious foods in season the desire to can and preserve the harvest for consumption during the winter emerges,” according to County Extension Director Glenda Wentworth. “However, it is important to understand how elevation affects food preservation.”

The class will cover canning basics, pressure canning, and water canning. Proper procedures and tested recipes are critical to prepare safe preserved foods. When home canning, it is crucial that you process all food at the correct pressure and for the proper length of time. This class will address both.

If you are interested in this class do not delay as it fills up quickly. At this time, the class is only offered in English. Pre-registration is required. To register contact Glenda Wentworth at 970-471-1097 or at glenda.wentworth@eaglecounty.us.
