Nov. 2, 2023 – Eagle County Government offices, including the Avon and El Jebel satellite offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 10 in observance of Veterans Day. The Eagle County landfill will close on Saturday, Nov. 11.


  • Emergency services are always available by calling 911
  • For non-emergencies call the Sheriff’s Office at 970-328-8500
  • The Road & Bridge Department will be on call at 970-479-2200 in cases of emergency
  • ECO Transit bus routes will operate on their regular schedules

 All other county offices and facilities will resume regular hours on Monday, Nov. 13.

The 19th annual Eagle County Veterans Day ceremony honoring veterans of the United States Armed Forces and those currently serving on active duty is presented by the Freedom Park Memorial Committee, VFW Post 10721, and Eagle County. The keynote speaker will be Garrett Fonda US Army Retd, LTC. Garrett served in airborne ranger infantry units and later in his 20-year career he was in the Soviet foreign affairs office. “The National Anthem” will be sung by the Battle Mountain High School Choir and "America the Beautiful” will be sung by Michelle Cohn Levy, the Cantor at B’nai Vail.
