February 1, 2024 - Join nationally recognized building energy specialists Shaunna Mozingo and Joe Lstiburek for a day of education and outreach about Eagle County’s building code updates. Professional code advisors will highlight the benefits and address concerns regarding the 2021 Energy Code for residential and commercial buildings. Building department staff, as well as architects, builders, contractors, suppliers, and all interested individuals, are welcome. The training will provide real-world information about code changes Eagle County is adopting and how to best navigate them. This event is free and open to the public and includes lunch for participants.

Shaunna Mozingo is the President of the Mozingo Code Group, LLC. and has served as a building inspector for the China and U.S. Solar Decathlon Competitions, co-authored the “2018 Energy Code Essentials” for ICC and has been awarded the Department of Energy’s Jeffrey A Johnson Award, ICC/IMT’s Standard Bearer’s Ward, and Southwest Energy Efficiency Project’s Leadership in Energy Codes award for her work in the advancement of building Energy Codes and building performance. She is a former president of the Colorado Chapter of ICC, recipient of the Chapter’s Beryl Wallace Award, and President’s Award. Shaunna is the chair of the Colorado Chapter’s Education Committee. She has been a code official for over 20 years.


Dr. Joe Lstiburek, B.A.Sc., M.Eng., Ph.D., P.Eng., is the founding principal of Building Science Corporation and a fellow at The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers. He is a building scientist who investigates building failures. He received an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a doctorate in Building Science Engineering from the University of Toronto.  He has been a licensed Professional Engineer since 1982.
