March 15, 2024 – Construction of the Hillcrest Drive roundabout is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 1, 2024.  This project will transform the existing “T” intersection into a single lane roundabout. Traffic will continue while construction is underway. Travelers should be alert and slow down while traveling through the construction zone. The anticipated completion date is September 30, 2024.

“Traffic along Highway 6 in west Edwards continues to increase, especially during the morning peak,” said Eagle County Senior Staff Engineer Rickie Davies. “With the current configuration, entering Highway 6 is challenging when traffic volume is high. This intersection upgrade to a roundabout will increase the safety of drivers that use Hillcrest Drive to access Highway 6. This project aims to protect public health, safety, and welfare.”

The construction of the Hillcrest Drive roundabout is at the direction of the Eagle County Engineering Department along with work performed by the contractor, Gould Construction, Inc. This project is funded by Eagle County and the Edwards Metro District.
