March 27, 2024 - Eagle County is seeking applicants for the Advisory Committee for the Eagle County Land Use Regulations Reform Project. Community members, agency partners, and stakeholders willing to provide perspective and advice on policy issues and technical aspects of the county's proposed new land use regulations are encouraged to apply. While some experience with reading and applying land use regulations is helpful, it is not required. The application period is open until April 4. To apply, visit www.eaglecounty.us/planningcommissions.

County commissioners will appoint a committee of up to 15 people with a balanced representation of geographical locations, perspectives, and varied experience and expertise. The committee will meet approximately five times in 2024 on May 2, June 5, August 7, October 2, and December 4. Each meeting will be scheduled for approximately 2 hours. Members should expect to consider various regulatory approaches, review proposed code modules, and recommend revisions throughout each phase of the process. Prior to the scheduled meetings, members will be asked to review drafts of the proposed code and related materials to ensure productive meetings and an efficient process.  Anticipated review time will vary based on the topic area and stage of the process but will likely require several hours of review prior to each meeting.

Eagle County’s Land Use Regulations (ECLUR) contain subdivision and zoning regulations and site development standards that govern land use in unincorporated Eagle County and are designed to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the county’s residents. The regulations provide the authority and framework for Eagle County to hold future development to a high standard of quality and to regulate orderly land use in a manner that is sensitive to the environment and natural resources.
